RTA grad makes her mark at the United Nations

RTA media production grad, Cassey Boland, this year had the opportunity to turn her interest in international relations and broadcasting in to an internship at the United Nations in New York City. As part of her fourth-year Global City practicum project, she volunteered at the global change event at the 69th General Assembly, where she met Prime Minister Stephen Harper. A Calgary native, Boland move to Toronto to study at RTA, and focus on TV journalism. Reflecting on her experience, she says, “I have achieved some monumental things in my life, all thanks to my education and practical experiences with RTA and broadcasters in Toronto. Applying the televisual and journalistic knowledge that I had learned at Ryerson to UNTV, has allowed me to produce international news stories for UN in Action, and given me the courage and knowledge to make such a big move out to New York City.” We wish Cassie good luck!
