RTA School of Media Appoints Laura Nenych Interim Chair

The RTA School of Media is pleased to announce that Professor Laura Nenych has been appointed the interim chair of the school. The one-year appointment is effective July 1, 2015.

Originally a graduate of Ryerson’s Radio and Television Arts program, Laura went on to Osgoode Hall Law School, was called to the Bar, and later completed a Master of Laws in E-Business at Osgoode. Laura worked at EMI Music for five years as director, legal and business affairs, before joining RTA in 2003. From 2010 until 2014, Laura was the program director for Ryerson’s graduate program in media production, and for the 2014-15 year, she was the program director for the undergraduate program. In May 2015, she was voted a "Prof. Who Made A Mark" by her students.

"To me, what stands out most about RTA is the passion, creativity, and dedication of our students, faculty and staff,” said Laura. “I’ve spent 12 years as a professor here, and am a proud RTA grad. RTA is such a special place, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to build the reputation of the school as an international leader in media education.”
