Once again this year, Telefilm Canada has invited Ryerson University to propose one project for funding consideration by Telefilm Canada, as part of their Micro Budget Program for budgets up to $250,000.
The Micro-Budget Production Program - Funding of Micro-Budget Feature Films from Emerging Filmmakers, aims to provide financing to emerging filmmakers (i.e. producers, directors, writers) for the development, production, distribution and promotion of a first feature-length film. This support will be provided through three different components: the Main component, the Aboriginal component and the Official Language Minority Community (OLMC) component.
A committee made up of faculty from the School of Image Arts and the RTA School of Media will be receiving short submissions for consideration. Initial submissions must be no more than 2 pages in length and should indicate the nature of the project and the team. Material should be sent as a PDF via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by no later than February 10 2015. At that point, the committee will come up with a short list of candidates who will be invited to present their projects in person.
This is open to students from any Ryerson program and recent alumni (within two years). The students can however be supported by individuals who have professional expertise and who are not students.
