Karen began her career while she was still a student in RTA as a Production Assistant at TSN in the early years of its creation. In 1990, in order to expand her knowledge, Karen took a job as an Associate Director with CBC and the debut of NewsWorld. Her knowledge of Sports production led her to a position of Associate Director/Producer on Hockey Night In Canada where she went on to cover 7 regular seasons and 7 Stanley Cup Finals.In addition to HNIC, Karen was a part of CBC Network TV Sports and worked on several Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, Paralympics and 8 Olympic Games. She has functioned in many roles in both edit suites and live control rooms. Her passion for story-telling has allowed her to conduct hundreds of athlete interviews in the field and produce hundreds of athlete features. Now as a Senior Producer with CBC Sports, Karen is responsible for the budgets, staffing, production and the execution of many amateur sports events. She has produced everything from figure skating, alpine and curling to gymnastics, equestrian and tennis.
