Steve Paikin is a Canadian journalist, author, producer, and anchor of TVO's flagship current affairs program, The Agenda with Steve Paikin.
Over the course of his more than three-decades-long career, Paikin has held reporting jobs in private radio and print media and is best known as the face of TVO’s The Agenda with Steve Paikin. Since joining TVO in 1992, he has produced several feature documentaries and has sat in the anchor chair for more than two decades. Paikin is a leading media figure on the Canadian political landscape; he is the author of four books on Canadian politics and has acted as moderator for six federal and provincial election leaders’ debates.
Paikin received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Toronto and his master's degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University. In 2013, Paikin was appointed chancellor of Laurentian University in Sudbury. The same year, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada, invested into the Order of Ontario, and elected to the Hamilton (Ontario) Gallery of Distinction. He holds honorary doctorates from Victoria University, Laurentian University and Humber College. His appointment with the RTA School of Media began on January 1, 2015.
