Alex Stirling, a professional screenwriter-educator, has been writing screen- and teleplays since he graduated from Ryerson University’s Image Arts: Film Studies Program.  He has also been teaching Screenwriting for over 15 years.  
His latest feature movie script, THE WOODS BEHIND TREVOR MALONE’S HOUSE, is a family adventure based upon the book.  Alex has written scripts in a number of genres including, thriller, western, and action adventure.  He has also written scripts for the small screen, and has a few Reality TV show concepts that he is developing.  

Alex began his teaching career as a guest lecturer, then, was hired by Ryerson to teach Fiction Screenwriting in The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education.  Courses that Alex has taught include: Fiction Screenwriting (Ryerson), Writing Film Fiction, developed for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) Bell Lightbox Centre, Non‐Fiction Screenwriting (Ryerson’s Summer Film School), Writing For Film, as well as Creative Commercial Production (Ryerson).  

Prior to his teaching career, Alex was a multi-award-winning Creative Director at various advertising agencies.  For over twenty years, he created many campaigns for national package goods, cars, tourism, and healthcare brands in both the US and Canada.
