Gwen Bartleman began her career as a technician at Penguin Theatre in Ottawa. Upon moving to Toronto, Gwen worked for many years with Buddies in Bad Times Theatre and was instrumental in securing and establishing their current home on Alexander Street. Following her tenure at Buddies, Gwen was a Business Representative at Canadian Actors’ Equity Association, Program Manager at Ryerson Theatre School and Administrative Coordinator at Ryerson’s School of Interior Design. During a brief stint in Sudbury, Gwen worked with Myths and Mirrors Community Arts and Réseau ACCESS Network.
Gwen has proudly volunteered her time on numerous boards, including the Inside Out LGBT Film & Video Festival, and with many fine organizations such as Blackness Yes/Block-o-rama and Supporting Our Youth’s Click program, where she served as a mentor to a queer youth.
