Laurie Petrou is an artist, a writer, and an academic, and teaches digital media and writing at RTA. With a background in fine art, design and fiction, Laurie continues to garner attention for her works in these areas. Her first book, Between, was a Globe and Mail Top 100 Book, and she has recently completed a novel. Laurie's research and creative work focuses on gender, storytelling, and digital culture. In addition to presenting her work at conferences, she was recently a TEDx speaker on breaking gender conventions among children, and is continually working on projects that challenge conventions in creative ways.
