Shael Stolberg published the first of his three International Film Festival Guide’s (IFFG) in 1996.
Shortly thereafter, he added a website to update filmmakers on festival & independent film information and created the wall mounted Film Festival Circuit Planner that was distributed at different North American festivals Sponsored by Motion International and Entertainment Weekly. He has moderated or been on panels at different festivals that include the Maryland Film Festival, Marco Island Film Festival, Lake Tahoe Film Festival, NXNE Film Festival &
Indieweek, respectively. Some of these panels were entitled Filmmaking Outside the Mainstream, Women in Film, Film Distribution and Finance & Distribution for your Indie Film.
Shael has given seminars and been guest lecturer about film festivals and independent film all over North America. Some of these locations include New York University – Tisch School for the Arts, REEL School in New York City, Los Angeles Film School and the Georgian College Film Summit (GCFS). He is also involved with FILMbutton.com, a website focused on promoting film & festival information, reviews, interviews and Q&A’s, as well as FILMbutton Follows... which promotes certain films & events.
Through FiLM BONAFIDE Shael consults with filmmakers in different areas of the film business which includes festival strategy, social media, distribution, marketing and film financing and works as a champion for the film's FiLM BONAFIDE represents within the festival & distribution communities.
